A Class 10 student was abducted and raped by five men in Palwal near Faridabad on Monday.
An FIR was filed at the Palwal police station but nobody has been arrested yet.
The police received a complaint from the girl’s mother late on Tuesday night saying that her daughter was kidnapped by five men when she was on her way to school on Monday.
“The mother said the men drugged her daughter in the vehicle and took her to a secluded spot where she was gang-raped,” said a police officer quoting the complaint.
He said that the men dumped the girl near Gugera village in the district in an unconscious state the same evening.
“After receiving the complaint, we sent the girl for medical examination, which confirmed rape,” said Jagat Singh Hooda, superintendent of police, Palwal.
The girl’s family accused five people who have been identified as Praveen of Alika village, Narveer, Omveer, Pankaj and Vivek of Gugera village. The police registered a case of kidnapping and gang rape against all five on Wednesday and launched a massive search to arrest them.
“Pankaj and Vivek are brothers, so are Narveer and Omveer,” Hooda said. “Two of the accused are students and the remaining three do odd jobs.”
“We are investigating all angles of the case and the accused are most likely to be arrested by Thursday. Our teams are raiding all possible hideouts of the accused,” he said.
