Ravneet Garg, the chief judicial magistrate of Gurgaon, who is under CBI investigation on the charge of murdering his wife nearly two months ago, was transferred out of the district on Thursday.
Garg has been sent to Jagadhri as civil judge in the capacity of the newly created post of whole time secretary of the district legal services authority, Haryana, on deputation.
Twenty-eight-year old Geetanjali, mother of two, had been found dead on July 17 at a park in the Police Lines in Gurgaon with three gunshot wounds, along with the revolver of her husband Ravneet. Though it was dubbed as suicide in the beginning, it started to be seen as murder after the postmortem.
Initially, an FIR had been lodged against Ravneet Garg and his parents under Sections 302 of the IPC after preliminary investigation by a five-member SIT formed for the purpose.
The plot had further thickened thereafter as the police had miraculously discovered all the six bullet slugs from the crime scene days after the murder, as also because the police also slapped dowry harassment charge against Ravneet and his family.
On the request of the family of the victim, who suspected foul play in Gurgaon police investigation, chief minister of Haryana Bhupinder Singh Hooda had transferred the case to the CBI.
