As the world celebrated the unique sequence of numbers on December 12, a Gurgaon couple became proud parents of a baby girl born at 12.12am at Artemis Health Sciences.

"It was a great moment for me and my husband. We never thought it would turn out to be like this - so precious. People call her the Millennium Baby," said Rajni Bhagat, the mother.

The 2.7kg baby girl also brought cheer to the hospital's environment. This is the Shivaji Nagar residents' first child. While mother Rajni is an engineer at Ericsson India, father Vivek is a relationship manager.

"It felt amazing to conduct the delivery. I have never experienced something like this in the past 20 years of my career - a complete uncontrolled and spontaneous delivery. It felt like the time stopped to give life to the child," said Dr Geeta Baruah, the case in-charge.

Baruah said that she received a call late at night saying her patient had gone into labour.

"I rushed to conduct the delivery," she said.

Around the same time, Baruah also conducted a C-section to deliver a baby boy in a controlled delivery. According to her, the surgery was urgent due to complications.
