Conmen rob bags with Rs. 1 lakh goods from car

Three conmen allegedly duped a family and fled with two bags containing two laptops, three mobile phones and a camera worth Rs. 1 lakh from a parked car in Sadar Bazar area on Monday. 


According to the police, a Gurgaon-based businessman went to Apna Bazar in Sadar Bazar to meet his accountant and parked his car near a wine shop. His brother and father were sitting in the car.

Karan Kumar told HT, "I had gone to visit my accountant when the thieves struck. A man knocked on the window of my car and told my brother that someone was calling him at Apna Bazar. Thinking it was me, he went to check."

Meanwhile, another man approached my father Darshan Kumar who is a retired deputy excise and taxation commissioner from Hissar. The accused claimed money was lying on the road. Darshan saw 13 notes of Rs. 10 denomination.

"While my father got off the car, another conman fled with the two bags kept on the rear seat of the car. Before we could gauge what was happening, the conmen fled," added Kumar.

When Karan returned, the bags were missing.

A case of theft was registered at the City police station and investigation is on.
