Sources said the youth, who has a criminal record with many snatchings to his credit, is a second-year student of a prestigious Delhi University college in north campus. He lives with his brother, also an accused in the case, and mother.

Police said they had planned a perfect crime with the elder brother - an employee at the store - roping in three 'specialists' from UP. But they were out of luck that day - the cash chest had been emptied earlier that night. They fled with expensive electronic items instead.
