Drunk men beat up youths over cricket

A group of nearly 20 unidentified men assaulted three residents of Sushant Lok Part-1 after they refused to play a cricket match with three drunken men in a park, the police said on Sunday.


The victims had filed a complaint with the Sushant Lok police on Saturday but a case was yet to be registered. The victims were identified as Subham Chauhan, 24, Anil Ramawat, 23, and Varun Ramavat, 29.

The incident took place on Saturday evening when they were playing cricket at a park. “Three drunken men came and tried to snatch our bat. We resisted, took our bat and wickets and left,” said Shubham Chauhan, adding that the accused then followed them to check their house number.

“After an hour, 20 men carrying hockey sticks and stones entered our house and started assaulting us,” Chauhan said.

S HO Sushant Lok Gorav Phogat said, “Action would be taken against the culprits soon.”
