The cops, who joined the force on Sunday, are to be deputed across the city. Some of them would also be posted on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway.

“We want the commuters to feel relaxed during peak hours. We will try to focus on major intersections to avoid traffic chaos,” said Bharti Arora, joint commissioner of police (traffic).

Around 31 new cops will be deputed at the highway between Sirhaul toll plaza and Kherki Daula toll plaza. The accident-prone Badshahpur-Sohna Road stretch will get eight cops.

Fifteen cops have been deputed in DLF City while Old Gurgaon has got 27 traffic policemen.

The additional force will clear bottlenecks at various places and ensure better management on all major intersections. The two traffic police stations at Hero Honda Chowk and Manesar have got additional 17 cops for managing traffic during peak hours.

“Special drives would be conducted throughout the month to spread awareness among the commuters. We will also ensure more cops deployment at the entry exit points on expressway to avoid congestion,” said Arora.
