The teachers staying on the premises of the charity school run by a British national have complained that they are being ill-treated by the locals.

Women staff often have to face obscene comments and live in constant fear. On several occasions, the locals have tried to assault them sexually and sometimes their car tyres are deflated.

One of the teachers living in the accommodation provided by the school management was molested by a group of miscreants, while a villager once broke into her room and attempted to rape her.

Members of Gairatpur Baas village panchayat did not let the incident reported to police and requested the teacher to forgive the youth. But many teachers say that they do not feel safe.

“Once, my husband came to meet me and all four tyres of his car were deflated in the night. The villagers want us to go back to our places and leave the school, but we have struggled all the years and now it’s time to get recognition,” said a teacher.
