Mewat govt colleges get computer labs

The Haryana government has begun the implementation of compulsory computer literacy from two colleges in Mewat district.

The two government colleges at Nagina and Tauru in Mewat have got computer laboratories with 25 computers each. The facilities have been set up with an investment of more than Rs. 67.60 lakh.

Haryana education minister Geeta Bhukkal on Monday said that of the three government colleges in the district, the compulsory computer education programme has been started in two colleges, while the the third government college, Salaheri will start the course soon.

The government is promoting quality education for the students of Mewat area. In this direction, a sum of about R408.45 crore had been incurred on expansion of educational facilities in the district.

Besides setting up of Mewat Model Schools and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, various scholarship schemes for meritorious students and for students belonging to reserved categories have also been implemented.

In order to make girl students aware of their rights and  broaden their career prospects, women cells had been set up in all government colleges of the district. A campaign was also launched from Mewat with the objective to educate people about their right to education.
