In a joint initiative by residents of Silver Oaks and DLF City Phase 1 (G and H Block) on Wednesday, two speed breakers were installed on the Faridabad Road.

Residents contributed R1,000 each for the speed breakers after repeated requests to the authorities fell on deaf ears.

According to locals, several written complaints were sent to the Haryana Public Works Department (building and roads) and the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda).

“I spoke to MLA Sukhbir Kataria, Huda administrator Praveen Kumar and officials of the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG). No agency provided any solution to our problems. They either blamed other agencies for the inconvenience or made false promises,” said Rama Rathi, an MCG councilor and a resident of DLF City Phase 1.

Residents have been voicing concerns over speeding vehicles  on this road for long. On April 10, a 40-year-old man died after being hit by a speeding car while he was crossing the road. According to witnesses, the incident took place near Qutab Plaza market. The victim flew across the divider and fell on his head.
