Student critical after being shot at by cousin

A 23-year-old student was allegedly shot at by her cousin at her house in Rajiv Nagar, near Shiv Mandir Chowk, on Wednesday.

The victim, Kavita, was rushed to the civil hospital where her condition was said to be critical, the police said.

According to the police, the complaint was registered by the victim’s brother, Sanjay Kataria. A case was filed under Section 307 (a) of the Indian Penal Code (attempt to murder) and relevant sections of the Arms Act.

The victim is a student at a private college in Gurgaon. According to sources, her maternal cousin came to visit her and they got into an argument which led to the shooting, the police said.

“The victim’s condition is still critical. She might be shifted to Safdurjung Hospital in Delhi on Friday. A case has been filed against an unidentified person. We are investigating the matter,” said the investigating officer, ASI Harikrishna. htc
