After the Centre constituted a committee under Justice (retired) JS Verma to review existing laws in the wake of the December 16 gangrape, students of the ITM University Law School in Gurgaon organised a brainstorming session to discuss recommendations that can be put up for consideration.

The Registrar of the University, Brigadier (retired) SK Sharma, said, "The need of the hour is to ensure that the law executing machinery is sensitive towards women."

A number of suggestions were made involving enhancement of punishment and changes in the procedure of lodging FIRs, apart from other police and judiciary reforms.
