The Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) has struck a deal with a private agency to set up around 300 mobile toilets at various locations across the city. The Huda will provide water supply and maintenance for these toilets. The waste will be disposed off in the master drain. At
Iffco Chowk, four such toilets have been set up on trial basis.

“I was satisfied with the operation of the mobile toilets and the most important that the people in good number were seen using these toilets. So I think the 300 mobile toilets would help the city in eradicating this nuisance,” said the administrator, adding that he may allow the firm to install minimum 1000 such public toilets.

Each toilet has 40 liters of water storage capacity and a base tank of 200 liter. The toilets will be connected to the sewer lines of the area.

In the absence of any public toilet, people often use open space for urinating, which cause health risks and nuisance for the residents.
