court on Tuesday but was granted bail.

The ex-serviceman, who had an experience of 25 years in driving heavy vehicles, was booked for rash and negligent driving.

However, the school administration has not confirmed any direct action against the accused driver. "We have asked the bus contractor not to allow the accused to enter into the school premises now," said Col (retired) RS Rana, administrator of the school.

Despite repeated reminders to private schools over submission of compliance report on school bus safety guidelines, only 10-12 institutions out of 100 had responded within the February 1 deadline. Suncity World School was among those who had failed meet the deadline.

However, Rana said that they have not received any email from the traffic department till Monday.

"We are examining how many schools are following instructions," said Bharti Arora, DCP (traffic), Gurgaon police.
