Four more cases of swine flu reported in Karnal

 Four more new recruits at the Haryana Commando complex, Newal, near here are tested positive for swine flu virus.

Total five policemen from the complex are found infected by the virus within this week.

According to the chief medical officer Dr Vandana Bhatia, Ashok, Naveen, Pradeep and Arshad Khan are kept at the commando complex in isolation.

"Condition of all policemen is under control and they do not require any hospitalisation. The commando complex is under watch and we are working with the police authorities to ensure that infection does not spread," she said.

Another young recruit Sadhu Ram was shifted to the PGI, Rohtak earely this week and his condition is stated to be normal.

Dr Bhatia said that all affected patients were posted in districts other than Karnal and they probably got virus infection at their respective posting areas.

"Following detection of first confirmed case of H1N1, we had examined total 376 policemen on the campus and 25 were given tamiflu tablets as precautionary measure," said the CMO.
