The Didar Singh Nalwi faction of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (ad hoc) has decided to back the Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) in the forthcoming elections of the Delhi SGMC.

DSGMC would go for polling on January 27.

Speaking to Hindustan Times on Wednesday Nalwi said that Haryana Sikhs would canvass SAD (D) to ensure democracy in the Sikhs' religious politics.

"We support the fight of Paramjit Singh Sarna, the president of DSGMC against Punjab Akalis led by Punjab chief minister (CM) Prakash Singh Badal. Punjab Akalis have always used SGPC for their petty political gains and Haryana Sikhs oppose to it," said Nalwi.
