Haryana to get 30 more women PCRs

In a bid to check crime against women, the Haryana government has decided to double the number of women PCRs in the state from 30 to 60, director general of police SN Vashisht said in a release on Thursday.

Stating that a rapid action force (RAF) of 200 women constables would also be constituted for this purpose, he said a battalion of women RAF have been deputed in Hisar range, while 55 women master trainers have been appointed to impart self-defence training to girls in schools and colleges.

He added that complaints regarding crimes against women could be registered at a helpline number, and 21 fast track courts were set up in the state.

Besides, CCTV cameras were being installed at various spots in cities across the state to check crimes against women.
