Vijay Kumar, the main accused in the domestic help murder case, was arrested on Thursday. Faridabad police said he will be produced before the court on Friday.
Kumar's girlfriend, who is believed to have helped him in the murder, is yet to be caught.
Kumar was arrested from Neharpar in Faridabad on Thursday. "During the interrogation, he confessed to having murdered Renu, the domestic help, with the help of his girlfriend Babita," DCP Central Devender Yadav said.
Police said Kumar, resident of NIT area in Faridabad, had eloped with Babita, who is from Delhi. Babita had stayed with Renu in the servant's quarter at the latter's employer's home in Sector 15 area.
During interrogation, Vijay told the police that Renu had been pressuring Babita to participate in flesh trade. "This is his theory. Things will get clearer once we arrest his girlfriend," Yadav said.
Renu, 25, used to work as a domestic help in the house of a cable trader in Sector 15. She had been found murdered on June 25 in the servant quarter of the house. Her two-year-old daughter had also been injured in the attack. Doctors had later removed a rolling pin from her body.
Police said the victim's husband, identified as Jeetu, served as a cook in the house of a local leader of Indian National Lok Dal in Faridabad. Kumar was one of Jeetu's friends.
