In order to prevent the damage of road and waterlogging, Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) has initiated the work on 2-metre slopes on both sides of  Sohna Road  at Subhash Chowk. The drain will be connected to the storm water drain.
Without wasting time in estimate
preparations or tender floating exercises, Huda administrator Praveen Kumar, after meeting superintending engineer RK Kakkar and executive engineer Hari Datt Sharma, asked the officials to get the work started.

During monsoons, the chowk becomes a waterway. This triggers to huge traffic jams.

The same technique can be replicated in waterlogging-prone areas of the city.

Recently, the bad conditions of roads figured in a recent high-level meeting. Financial commissioner of the Town Country Planning Department SS Dhillon, Huda chief administrator DPS Nagal and administrator Praveen Kumar did some brainstorming on the issue.

Instructions were given to all executive engineers to identify waterlogging-prone sites and start construction of slops for smooth flow of rainwater.

“We will construct two-meter wide slopes on both sides so that water flows into drain without any obstruction. Beside that we will also beautify Subhash Chowk roadsides,” said an executive engineer of the Huda.

Sohna Road, Golf Course Extension road, Ardee City master road and several other roads develop potholes due to poor drainage system.
