Aimed at ensuring security to women in and around their workplaces, the local police have decided to prepare comprehensive databank of women working in the district.

In an order issued on Thursday, superintendent of police Shashank Anand directed managements of all establishments to provide information of the women staff who remained on duty in the evening and beyond, at their respective places.

Anand said all government and private organisations, including educational and health institutes, had been given a week's time to apprise the district police of the information.

"Once the details are with us, we will plan security arrangements at their workstations and their way back home," the superintendent of police added.
