Up in arms against their resident welfare association (RWA), nearly 50 people living in Regency Park 2, an upscale condominium in DLF Phase-4, staged a peaceful demonstration on Wednesday.

The trouble started when four residents alleged that they were asked to vacate their parking spaces from the basement on the pretext of renovation. However, a wall blocking the parking area came up overnight without their consent, residents claimed. Some people also marched within the complex premises brandishing banners and posters alleging the RWA was indulging in land grab.

“I and three other neighbours were asked to park our cars outside as the basement had to be painted. A wall was built without our permission,” Naveen Khanna said.

Manish Dhingra, another resident, said, “This is a form of land grab. The RWA cannot block our parking lot. We have bought this space from the developer DLF and possess all legal documents to support our case.” After much debate, a legal committee was constituted to sort out the matter and arrive at a consensus.

“The wall is built on the extra space behind the parking slots to set up a store to keep extra items of the association. It is a common area but for the satisfaction of residents, we will accept the committee's decision,” RWA president OP Khaitan said.
