Rohtak new DC urges media to play constructive role

Deputy commissioner (DC) Amit Aggarwal has urged the media to indulge in constructive criticism of public issues so that it could be helpful for the administration and help in solving problems instantly.

"The media plays a pivotal role in forming public opinion and has the freedom to write what they want, which is a sign of a healthy democracy," Aggarwal said during his first interaction with the media after taking charge on Tuesday.

On his priorities, the DC said: I will see to it that all development projects are completed in time and hindrances to public welfare projects be removed."

On reining in corruption in government offices, he said: "Anyone facing demand for money from a government employee should contact me and I will make sure that action is taken against the erring official."
