Stalking drives Hisar girl to suicide

A Class-9 student allegedly being stalked by two young men poisoned herself to death in Hisar, police said on Monday. The two accused have been arrested for abetment to suicide.

It is learnt that the teenaged girl was being stalked for more than two months, and her family had even complained to the accused youths' families around 20 days ago, though no police complaint was made. Yet, the two youths not only continued to stalk her but also threatened her, the girl's brother has told police.

On Sunday, the parents of the girl found her unconscious at their house in Badwali Dhani area of Hisar. She was taken to a nearby private hospital where she died. Medical reports confirmed that she had taken a poisonous substance.

The police said both the accused youths, who belong to a nearby village, have been arrested and further investigations are being carried out.
