Kasauli, Chail experiences season’s first snow fall

After upper parts of the state, the cantonment town Kasauli on Saturday experienced season’s first snowfall, strengthening the hope of heavy tourist’s influx in the area. Similarly, tourist ton Chail also experienced first snow fall this forenoon. The lower and upper parts of the district
on Saturday again lashed by intermittent rains there by brightening the prospects of good Rabi crop. The minimum temperature that was hovering around 1 degree Celsius tow days ago, recorded at – 2 in Solan, Kasauli, Chail and Kandaghat, forcing the residents to confine themselves in the houses.

Meanwhile, unscheduled power suspension and trippings on Saturday again  adversely affected the health and drinking water facilities at several places including parts of Kasauli, Subathu, Kuthar, Patta – Mehlog, Industrial township Baddi, Barotiwala, Parwanoo, Dharampur, Garkhal and other rural parts of the district.

The power failure further caused great hardships to the people in extreme cold condition. Kasauli recorded around 5 centimetres snow while Chial received around 20 centimetres snow, considered favourable for the better crop of deciduous fruits in the region.
