The gateway of Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, Rohtang Pass experienced another spell of snowfall delaying the road clearing operation on the Manali-Leh highway which could not be thrown open for vehicular traffic so far due to frequent snowfall.

Report arriving from Keylong, district headquaters of Lahaul Spiti said that and 13050 meter high Pass experiencing snowfall hampering the road clearance operation which is a war-ooting by the Boarder Road Organisation. '
BRO could not meet the target to open this pass by April 15 which was postponed to April 25 but fresh snowfall and prevailing Western disturbances for next two days are likely to further delay the snow clearing operations. The district administration is yet relaying on Emergency Helicopter sorties to up and down lift the citizen and employees from the Lahaul Valley, Keylong based official told UNI.
Rohtang Pass remains official close from month of November 15 to April 15 annually due to heavy snowfall on the pass which were being thrown open by the BRO soon after fading away of winter but due to prolongation of season this year it was being delayed.
The state still have chilly weather as it was partly to cloudy and tourists resort Shimla experienced about five millimeter rainfall early this morning.
Gagal Airport in Kangra and Sunderngar in Mandi had 12 mm and one mm rainfall respectively. Night temperature of Manali was confined to five degrees and Shimla eight degrees, respectively.
