Newly appointed chairperson of the social welfare board Satya Parmar, daughter of former chief minister Thakur Ram Lal and wife of former MLA Kush Parmar, was accorded a warm welcome on Wednesday during her first visit to her native place after becoming the chairperson.
The Congress activists welcomed her at Kala Amb. She paid tributes to Dr YS Parmar, founder of the state and her father-in-law as soon as she arrived in the town.
Addressing the Congress workers' meeting at Congress Bhawan, she said it would be her endeavour to strengthen the board and party and prepare for the next parliamentary elections. Notably, it is the second major appointment of the Congress leader from this constituency. Earlier, former MLA Kanwar Ajay Bahadur Singh was appointed as chairman of Himfed.
She said there were several scopes for the working of weaker sections of society. She said the issues of the board would be raised before the central government so that more funds could be obtained. District Congress president Ajay Solanki, former MLA Kush Parmar and senior Congress worker Prem Parkash Thakur were also present.
