Residents of the town, who remained without drinking water on Tuesday, heaved a sigh of relief when water supply was restored on Wednesday morning. The water distribution work continued for about two hours, claimed a local, Ramesh Kumar.
Kumar, who lives on rent in a private building and studies in local college, said it was difficult to live without water as he had no other source of water in his locality.
He added that the department of irrigation and public health should ensure that there was no shortage of water to people and supply should not be disrupted at any cost.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the irrigation and public health department said it was doing its best to maintain the water supply all over the district.
However, on many occasions it had to face problems due to power cut and falling of debris on supply lines, thereby disruting the water distribution system.
