Income-Tax sleuths conducted simultaneous searches at the offices of Dalmia Bharat Enterprises across the country, official sources said here today.
The searches, which began early, continued till late in the evening here yesterday.
On whether the searches are related to their
alleged business relations with Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, a spokesperson of Dalmia refused to comment.
"The offices of Dalmia Bharat were visited by officials of the Income Tax Department. This was a routine inspection in which we cooperated fully and are confident in our consistent compliance with all the statutory rules and regulations," Dalmia said in a statement.
Sources in the I-T department said the searches were carried out in various offices of Dalmia Cements in Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
