SocialTwist betting on online ad industry

SocialTwist, a social marketing platform solutions provider, is betting big on the online advertising industry that is likely to touch USD 36 billion by 2014, said here today. The company's flagship Tell-A-Friend (TAF) suite of services, which currently has 10 per cent of the large
companies globally, is bullish about the domestic market
covering industries including telecommunications, FMCG, travel and entertainment, SocialTwist CEO Vijay Pullur said.

According to Pullur, users of social networking sites have outnumbered email users and the time spent on social networking has overshot email usage world over.

"While USD 46 is spent per online user in the US, in India, it is about Rs. 64 per user. The market is huge and is growing," he said.

SocialTwist's customers include Bigadda.com, Monster.com and Jet Airways in India. It also launched a promotional offer targeting the Indian market where users will gain Rs. 10 per click.

It means those brands that sign up for the service spending Rs. 20,000 will get an assured 2,000 clicks, Pullur said, adding, the company has so far spent over USD 3 million on its website and has team of over 25 professionals, he said.
