Pro-Telangana parties will launch a "non-cooperation movement" from the second week of this month to press the Centre for initiating the process to form a separate state.
Leaders of TRS, BJP and other parties, under the auspices of the Telangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC), will meet Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday and convey their decision to undertake the "non-cooperation".
TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao today said the agitation will be launched to press the Centre for taking steps for formation of separate Telangana immediately.
"The non-cooperation movement would be started from the second week of February. All the government employees in Telangana are going to participate in it. Buses, trains, offices, courts, colleges and others are not going to function. It will be a peaceful agitation in Gandhian way. God only knows how long it will continue," Rao said.
Telangana government employees unions have announced the decision to begin agitation from February 17.
