The army is contemplating an appropriate and calibrated response to the ghastly and barbaric action of the Pak Army of beheading the body of jawan on Wednesday morning and slitting the throat of another.

"It an act of aggression and we have to respond. It's even more necessary to keep the moral of the jawans high and also to send a message across the nation," said a senior officer, wishing not to be named.

The officer said:  "the response may not be immediate but it would be definitely there in a calibrated manner."

A pall of gloom descended when the bodies were brought from Mendhar to Rajouri for wreath laying ceremony. A number of jawans has teary eyes and some where sobbing. The feeling of revenge was quite palpable in the area.
