One policeman was killed and five others injured in a head-on collision of vehicles on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district here on Thursday.
Constable Shamsher Singh, posted at Mattan police station in Anantnag, died on the spot when his Maruti vehicle collided head-on with a truck at Mihar area in Ramban district, officials said.
After the collision, the truck went on to hit a tempo, injuring its five passengers, they said.
The injured were rushed to a local hospital at Ramban, police said adding, the driver of the truck managed to escape from the spot.
A case has been registered and a search is on for the driver, they said.
