Ajmer blast accused Bhavesh Patel has accused three UPA ministers of forcing him into naming top Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) functionaries in the case.

Patel has made the allegation in a petition to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) special court in Jaipur, his advocate Bhupendra Singh Chauhan told Hindustan Times.

Patel claimed meetings were arranged with home minister Sushilkumar Shinde, minister of state for home RPN Singh, coal minister Sriprakash Jaiswal and senior Congress leaders like Digvijaya Singh who wanted him to name RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and his aide Indresh Kumar in the case.

Patel, arrested in March, alleged one Acharya Pramod Krishnan of Moradabad facilitated his meetings with the ministers and Digvijaya.

Chauhan claimed Patel, charged with providing logistical support to those who carried out the blast inside the Ajmer dargah, would make the same statement in court on Thursday.

Patel has also accused investigation officer of the case Vishal Garg and inspector general of NIA Sanjeev Kumar Sinha of pressuring him to implicate the RSS leaders.

While the BJP president Rajnath Singh accused the Congress of “resorting to lies” to implicate RSS leadership, Shinde and his deputy denied the allegations.

“I do not know any Bhavesh Patel. I have never met him. If someone takes my name, what can I do," Shinde told reporters in New Delhi.
