Former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa on Wednesday said his newly formed party KJP's first priority was to prove its strength in the state and asserted he would not go in for alliance with any political parties.

"I will not go in for any alliance with any political party in Karnataka. My priority is to show the strength of Karnataka Janata Party in my state," he said.

Yeddyurappa was here to offer worship at the famous Rajarajeswari temple at Thaliparambu and Madayikkavu near Payyannoor in Kannur district.

Instrumental in bringing the first BJP government to power in the South, Yeddyurappa said there is a bright future for regional parties. "The importance of regional parties is increasing in the country. I will not return to BJP," he said.

National parties are seeking help of regional parties, he said, adding KJP would become a strong force in Karnataka.

Yeddyurappa said his party would contest in all 224 assembly seats in Karnataka in the next election. "I am sure my party will get majority," he said.
