CPI (M) state secretary Biman Bose on Thursday described as 'unwanted and indecent' the remarks by senior party MLA Anisur Rehman about West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
"The remarks by Anisur Rehman are unwanted and indecent. It is against the political cuture of our party. Our party does not approve such remarks," Bose said in a press statement.
Rehman made the remarks at a rally at Itahar in North Dinajpur district while referring to the compensation for rape by West Bengal government, Bose said.
"He has already apologised for his remarks in public and we hope he will restrain himself from making any such remarks in future."
