"If the Trinamool Congress did not have any other option left with it, then why was there so much drama?" state BJP president Rahul Sinha asked.

"The Trinamool Congress once accused Pranab Mukherjee of being anti-West Bengal, but what happened that he suddenly became pro-West Bengal?" he asked.

He said that Banerjee had "completely surrendered to the Congress-CPI(M) combined nominee for reasons not known."
