The CPI(M) South 24 Parganas district secretary Sujan Chakraborty alleged that Mollah, the party MLA from Bhangor in South 24 Parganas district, on Sunday went to the party office at Kanta Tala during which he was attacked by TMC supporters.

Mollah, the former Land and Land Revenue minister, has been rushed to a private hospital, Chakraborty claimed.

The ruling TMC refuted the CPI(M) allegations that their supporters attacked Mollah at Kanta Tala under the Kolkata Leather Complex police area.

It is a "totally baseless" allegation, the party said.

However, police said till 2.30pm they have not yet received any complaints about the attack on Mollah.
