The governor had sought an apology from the party Politburo for the protest against West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and the state finance minister turning violent.

Simultaneously, the state Congress alleged a “growing proximity” between the Trinamool Congress and the BJP and went all out against West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee over the violent clashes in her state.

“There are allegations that leaders and cadres of Trinamool Congress supported by the willful inaction of local police and administration are targeting not only party offices of Left parties but also Congress workers and leaders. We strongly condemn it,” party in-charge of West Bengal Shakeel Ahmed said.
