They were just saving their jobs. If they can ‘fix’ and give a ‘dose’ to come SFI supporters their points with the state government would increase.”

While many SFI supporters and Sudipta’s friends put up black profile pictures to express their grief. Shubhankar Ghosh, a student of WBUT, wrote on Facebook, “Red salute to you. We will never forget you. Your death will not be in vain.”

Even chief minister Mamata Banerjee was criticised on Facebook, for attending the IPL inaugural ceremony. Banani Ghosh, an SFI supporter, wrote on Sudipta’s wall, “Even after hearing this news, how can the leader of the Ma-Mati-Manush government remain busy lighting the lamp at the IPL inaugural ceremony. She must not be bothered by the death of Sudipta, a young man and the only support of his father.”
