Trinamool MP Kunal Ghosh, who has angered his party by attending a function of a dissident leader, was again interrogated by the police on Sunday for his alleged role in the investment scam of the Saradha group.
“If the police want to arrest me they can do so. Before arrest, I would seek the permission of police to conduct a press conference. I have a lot of things to say,” he said.
Deputy commissioner (detective department of the Bidhannagar commissionerate) Arnab Ghosh said after two days of interrogation, the police had not found any discrepancy in the statements given by the legislator.
The legislator attended a function of MP Somen Mitra, who is at loggerheads with party chief Mamata Banerjee, on Friday. On Saturday his interrogation started. He reportedly revealed some names, which, the police said, were not relevant at present.
Though the police were silent on the issue of interrogation, sources said it was on finance-related matters.
Ghosh said he will continue to co-operate with the police.
