The state police on Friday set up a control room that would operate 24x7 to provide information to people about the situation in flood-affected areas.
People could dial the control room’s telephone number for assistance. Those whose family members were missing in Uttarakhand could also contact the control room, said the IG (Crime).
“We will help them trace their family members with the assistance of the Uttarakhand government. We urge the people to send a text message as it would be easy for us to pass it on to our counterparts in Uttarakhand,” he said.
Rakesh Pradhan, a superintendent of police-rank officer, has been appointed in-charge of the control room. His mobile number is 9454402510.
Three DSPs — Man Singh Gaur, Ajay Pratap and Dharmendra Sachan — have been posted in the control room. Their mobile numbers are 9454401674, 9454401675 and 9454405198 respectively. Information about missing people may also be obtained from the Uttarakhand government’s website.
