Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University was again in news. But this time for serving suspension letters on the dean school of home science, assistant registrar examination and a computer programmer on the charges of laxity in the recently concluded examination.

The university officials say their negligence had resulted in huge inconvenience to the administration besides earning a bad name to the institution.

However, the affected parties have a different story to share. They allege that their suspension had nothing to do with any laxity and that they had been targeted by the administration.

They alleged that the university administration was biased against them as they had questioned the arbitrary behaviour of the acting vicechancellor B Hanumaiah, who is on extension.

Alleging a foul play, they claimed that they had been suspended without being served any charge sheet. That showed the intent of the authorities, one of them said. The suspended employees have been identified as Prof Sunita Mishra, dean, School of Home Science, Jitendra Kumar, assistant registrar examination and Atul Bajpai, computer programmer.

One of them said that they were targeted deliberately as they were vocal against the university’s wrong functioning.

The public relations officer of the university failed to point out anything when asked to explain the laxity indulged into by these members. The suspended employees said the acting vice-chancellor and the acting registrar had no powers to take such action against them.
