The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Sunday made it clear to the Samajwadi Party that party chief Mayawati will continue her tirade against the state government until the law and order improves.
Talking to the media persons the national general secretary of BSP SC Mishra said if chief minister Akhilesh Yadav is incapable of tolerating criticism against his government or to accept the ground reality he should tender his resignation from the post.
On Saturday, Mayawati made a scathing attack on the state government charging that law and order has deteriorated. Demanding imposition of President rule, she said women do not step out of their house these days. In a counter attack the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav said if Mayawati was feeling insecure then she should stop visiting UP.
Condemning the statement of chief minister Mishra said rather than telling the harassed lot to leave the state Akhilesh Yadav should put the Mafiosi and criminal elements behind bar. Since Yadav took the rein of the state in his hand in 2012 there had been sudden spurt in the activities of the criminal elements.
The officers who launched drive against criminals are being suspended or transferred. SDM, NOIDA, Durga Nagpal who launched drive against illegal mining was suspended and the IPS officer Navneet Rana who nabbed the cattle smugglers in NOIDA was transferred too. The SP leader involved in cattle smuggling was given minister of state status, he said.
The allegation by the Samajwadi Party government that BSP misused public money on the construction of Dalit parks and memorials was baseless Mishra said and added it indicates casteist mindset of the SP leaders. The memorials and parks are popular spots among the local people and large numbers of tourists from various corner of the country are visiting Lucknow these days to have a glimpse of the memorials. There has been sharp increase in the sale of tickets and it was adding to the revenue of the state government, he said.
Mishra took the state government to task for changing the name of the educational institutions, parks and districts set up by the BSP government. The SP leaders have set wrong tradition and would have to face the music after the change of power in 2017. He said under BSP rule new medical college, paramedical institutes and super specialty hospitals were opened.
