Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday announced a series of developmental plans for his home district Etawah. Yadav's largess for his village included a burn and trauma centre at Saifai medical college and increase in the capacity of bed from 700 to 1200 in Saifai hospital.
He said a Saifai development authority would also be constituted soon.
While distributing unemployment allowance and Kanya Vidyadhan to the beneficiaries of Etawah and Mainpuri, the chief minister also announced establishment of a girls inter college in Saifai, construction of Safai bypass, sports college and a market for farmers "Apna Bazar" in the village.
Addressing a gathering of 7767 beneficiaries of Rs. 1000 monthly unemployment allowance and 2000 girls who were given Rs. 30,000 each Kanya Vidya Dhan, Yadav said the Etawah exhibition ground would be expanded and more barracks would be constructed in Etawah and Saifai to provide residential facilities to cops.
The chief minister also ordered for the construction of 25km roads in all the assembly segments in the district. While the under unemployment allowance scheme Rs. 1.3 crore were distributed, Rs. 6 crore were doled out under the Kanya Vidya Dhan scheme. Pointing out that the government had been making efforts for more industrialisation of the state, Yadav said it would help in providing job opportunity to the people.
The chief minister also announced several developmental plans for Mainpuri, which is parliamentary constituency of SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Addressing the gathering, Mulayam Singh Yadav said the SP government was committed to implement each and every promise made to the people in the party's election manifesto. He said the government had taken a series of measures to provide facilities for the welfare of women.
He said Kanya Vidya Dhan would go a long way in providing educational avenues to poor girls. While PWD minister Shivpal Yadav enumerated achievements of his department during the last six months, labour minister Dr Waqar Shah and minister of state for labour Shaid Manzoor also addressed the meeting.
