In a plot reminiscent of a Bollywood potboiler, a man was allegedly abducted by a doctor, brutally beaten up in a running car for several hours and later thrown on a road near a police patrol party in Indira Nagar in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The victim was ‘punished’ for not returning the loan of Rs. 50 lakh that he took from one Dr Jafar Jameel a few years back.

Cops have nabbed three persons including Dr Jameel while registering a case of abduction against him. Search is going on for other accused.

Reportedly, Sharad Mishra, a cloth merchant in Ahmedabad, was in city since three days and staying with his family at Mayur Vihar Colony. During his frequent visits to city earlier, he avoided meeting Dr Jameel from whom he had taken a loan of Rs. 50 lakh. However, on Tuesday, Dr Jameel somehow came to know about Sharad’s ‘secret’ visit and he along with his brother Khalid Jameel, driver Pintoo and two others, went to his residence.

Dr Jameel allegedly barged into Sharad’s house and beat up his mother Malti and servant Parmatma and dumped them in a room before abducting Sharad. They took him into a car and for the next 12 hours he was allegedly beaten up while the vehicle took rounds of several areas in the city.

Meanwhile, Sharad’s mother Malti was able to inform Sharad’s father Kailash Chandra Mishra about the incident after a few hours when a neighbour came to visit them and opened the door locked from the outside. A search was launched by the Indira Nagar and Gazipur police when late at night Kailash filed a police complaint about his son’s abduction by Dr Jafar Jameel.

According to Sharad, he fell unconscious several times due to brutal beating but was brought back to his senses and beaten again. At around 3 am, the abductors saw a police patrol party in Takrohi under Indira Nagar police area. Watching cops at a distance from their car, they threw Sharad on the road who was found by the police team.

On the basis of Sharad’s statement, cops arrested Dr Jafar Jameel, his brother and driver from Sanjay Gandhi Puram. Search is going on for other accused. Cops have registered a case for abduction.

During interrogation, it was confirmed that Sharad was abducted in connection with Rs. 50 lakh which Dr Jafar had invested in his firm Ligma Wen in Mumbai for running online trading business.

The company could not make profits and it was shut down. However, Sharad did not return the money to Dr Jafar and even avoided responding to his phone calls.

Sharad’s family was living in Lucknow while he was in Ahemdabad. He used to visit Lucknow often and left without meeting Dr Jafar.

When suddenly Dr Jafar came to know that Sharad was in city, he approached him to get his money back.
