Eight hurt in group clash: UP

A dispute over a cricket match led to a clash between two groups of a minority community on Tuesday morning causing injuries to at least eight persons in a Kakori village on the city outskirts. The two groups attacked each other with rods, canes, and sharp edged weapons and even pelted each other with stones. The injured have been admitted in Balrampur hospital where condition of two persons was said to be critical.

The incident led to tension in the village and heavy police force was deployed to avert any further clash. The police have detained some local youths allegedly involved in the incident after registering FIR.

According to reports, the two groups clashed over a twoday old dispute when they had scuffled while playing cricket in Chandoiya village of Kakori. The two groups entered into the verbal duel again on Tuesday morning and soon turned violent.
