Five killed, 20 injured in UP road crash

Five people were killed and 20 others injured early on Tuesday when a bus coming from New Delhi rammed into a tractor trolley at Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh, police said.

The accident took place at around 4am when the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) bus hit a tractor trolley laden with bricks at Nakhasa area of Sambhal, 360km from Lucknow.

Superintendent of police (SP), Sambhal, tehsildar Singh said the ill-fated bus was travelling to Budaun from New Delhi.

Besides bus driver Prempal, two passengers Najmool and Ishrat have been identified among the five killed.

Among the 20 injured, the condition of four was extremely critical, police said.

"The seriously injured passengers of the bus have been shifted to Meerut for treatment," the SP said.
