Join Santas’ first walk for peace!

The city is all set for the first- ever walk for justice, peace, prosperity and happiness on Sunday, named Santathon.

The walk, organised by Hindustan Times, will begin from the multi-level parking near Hanuman temple in Hazratganj at 3pm with representation of from all walks of life in Santa attire.

It will culminate at Cathedral Senior Secondary School where Fr Ignatius D’ Souza, the Parish priest of Cathedral Church shall deliver the message of love and peace.

Hundreds of schoolchildren would join this unique Santathon to extend their solidarity for the cause of justice, peace and to pray for prosperity for loved ones in the coming year.

Bishop of Lucknow, Fr Gerald J Mathias wished good luck to HT Santathon. “We hope this event will herald a new phase of prosperity for the needy. Santa is an embodiment of love and compassion who brought smiles to the faces of poor and needy. I wish the event a lot of success,” he said.

Students of St Francis College and Cathedral Senior Secondary School are eagerly waiting for this event. “We have sent SMSes to parents of our students for their participation in the unique walk,” said Fr Denis Naresh Lobo, principal of SFC while talking to HT.

Students of City Montessori School would add jingle music to the event. Oshika Pandey, a Lucknow girl who is pursuing course from Delhi University said that she had not heard of something like this in the past. “I’m happy that a newspaper organization too has joined the countrywide chorus for justice,” she said.

Powered by Mr Brown Bakery at the end best dressed Santa would get some prizes. Goodies would be distributed to the children who would take part in this Santa walk.
