Knockout drive against encroachments from April 15 in Lucknow

The LMC, the PWD and the LDA have chalked out a strategy to wipe out encroachments from VIP and market areas of the city.

But will the effort achieve the desired results this time? The drives will start from April 15 and continue till June 28. The first of these would be conducted at Rana Pratap Marg, Butler Palace Colony and Gokhale Marg. Areas like Charbagh, Hussainganj, Alambagh, Chowk, Hazratganj, Meerabai Marg would also be covered during the operation.

Municipal commissioner Rakesh Kumar Singh said, “The roster for the joint drives has been prepared carefully and all the areas would be visited thrice during this period. If the encroachers are found again, then FIRs would be lodged.”

The three departments have already talked to the deputy inspector general of police (DIG) for availability of police force during the drives. And the cops have promised full support.
