Light rainfall registered across state

Light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers were reported from one or two places in Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours with the lowest minimum temperature recorded at 5.5 degrees Celsius at Ballia district.

According to the Met office amounts of rainfall recorded (in centimetres) are: Churk and Muzaffaranagar 5 each, Varanasi and Bahraich 4 each, Gorakhpur, Ballia, Sultanpur, Allahabad, Kanpur, Hardoi, Bareilly, Moradabad, Hamirpur, Agra and Meerut 3 each.

Basti, Barabanki, Kanpur, Lucknow and Aligarh recorded 2 cms rainfall each.

Meanwhile, night temperatures fell in Agra, Bareilly, Mordabadad, Jhansi, Kanpur and Meerut divisions. It rose appreciably in Gorakhpur division and changed a little elsewhere in the state.

The Met department has said that rain and thundershowers would occur at one or two places over western UP and at a few places over eastern parts of the state.
